Workiva Inc., the leading platform for ESG, regulatory, and financial reporting, has collaborated with Persefoni Inc., a leading SaaS-based CMAP (Climate Management and Accounting Platform).
This partnership will enable the company to seamlessly offer investor-grade, transparent carbon disclosures to joint customers.
Other global regulators and the SEC are announcing new disclosure guidelines related to climate that will influence organizations. Sustainability leader, CFOs, and their boards will need to partner to integrate the requirements of carbon reporting of a revised regulatory template into daily respective operations.
The collaboration sets the only reporting solution in the market that brings together connected and transparent financial and ESG (environmental, social, and governance) reporting with extensive granularity around the accounting of greenhouse gases by the GHGP (greenhouse gas protocols) to track emissions of carbon in Scope 1, indirect emissions in Scope 2, as well as downstream and upstream emissions in Scope 3.
Julie Iskow, the Chief Operating Officer at Workiva believes that the company continues to develop and provide inventive abilities that assure its comprehensive platform allows the company’s customers to cater to evolving requirements of ESG disclosure.
Iskow has emphasized that the partnership with Persefoni will enable Workiva to provide board and investor-grade carbon data that is used to make the right decisions for the environment and businesses.
A tech-enabled solution is crucial to the compliance of an organization and thereby maintaining it with regulation. Persefoni and Workiva will together deliver a connected reporting solution to smoothly transfer carbon data within the two platforms, enabling users to shift away from manual processes and disparate spreadsheets. This will enable users to increase efficiency, save time, and curb risk, and complexity. It will also enhance overall transparency and accuracy in the process of record-to-report.
It is worth noting that Persefoni has radically simplified the technical obstacle for carbon accounting entry with the successful codification of over 750 pages of the GHGP tech guidance into its platform.
