Netflix Inc. has reportedly launched a new website dubbed ‘Tudum’ which will be dedicated to news about release dates, renewals along with extra content featuring its movies and TV shows. The website comprises cast breakdowns, exclusive interviews, information on popular content, upcoming shows, a trending news section along with an explore section.
Tudum will host extra information and content about current and upcoming movies and shows on Netflix. Users can delve deeper and find information on the cast or the story behind TV shows or movies. For instance, Tudum can inform users about the filmography of the cast of The Witcher and also whether Maid is inspired by a true story.
The streaming giant is promoting the website as a destination to know more about content on the platform. Users can log into the website through their Netflix account for a comprehensive experience. Netflix states that the website is currently in the nascent stage and the platform plans to continue its development and introduce new features.
Announcing the website launch, Bozoma Saint John, the Chief Marketing Officer at Netflix stated that the streaming platform is delighted to unveil Tudum to users to delve deeper into their favorite stories, start conversations on fan theories, and fuel their obsessions.
Interestingly, Tudum is named after the sound viewers hear when they launch the platform or play any of the original Netflix content. It was also the name of the global virtual fan event that took place in September 2021. The event comprised exclusive teasers and panels with stars from some of the most popular titles on Netflix including Cobra Kai, Stranger Things, The Crown, The Witcher, Bridgerton, and Emily in Paris.
Tudum is now accessible worldwide but is currently available in English. Netflix is yet to clarify whether it plans to launch the website in more languages.
