Körber AG has reportedly completed the acquisition of the parcel and mail business of Siemens Logistics. With this acquisition, Körber will complement its current supply chain provisions and offer leading solutions in parcel and mail logistics. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and usual closing conditions.
The Hamburg-based company is launching a complementary product offering and obtaining access to the leading logistics providers of the world. This opens new opportunities for collaborations from which the current customers of the Group can benefit. Thereby, the mail and parcel business of Siemens Logistics will benefit from the global system integration capabilities and comprehensive supply chain of Körber.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of the Körber Group Stephan Seifert, Siemens Logistics is a major player in the global express, courier, e-commerce, and parcel market is very well placed with its global consumer base.
Seifert added that the mail and parcel business will widen and complement the company’s market offering as a leading collaborator to the e-commerce and supply chain industry. This encompasses all relevant solutions like software, hardware, system, and digital integration.
Furthermore, Chief Financial Officer of Siemens AG Ralf P. Thomas expressed that the recent development in the mail and parcel business of Siemens Logistics exhibits that the concept for its portfolio firms is enabling further business development and making them sustainable for the future even after dissociation from Siemen’s core business.
