Meeting the requirements of the marine industry is a complex task. For successful completion of complex projects, collaborating with the right partner is critical. Gas Entec Co. Ltd., one of the leading global LNG and gas logistics company, has reportedly secured a contract from Sembcorp Marine Integrated Yard Pte. Ltd. to offer engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a cargo handling system for the 12,000 cubic meter LNG bunker vessels owned by Singapore-based Indah Singa Maritime. For the record, Gas Entec is a world-class company in engineering for small- and mid-scale LNG infrastructure and other applications. The company has expertise in building cargo containment, handling, and fueling gas supply systems for floating LNG ships, terminals, and bunker vessels using LNG. Gas Entec’s projects include its small-scale floating regasification unit operated at the Port of Benoa in Bali, LNG bunkering barge in the United States and EPC of the LNG components of Japan’s first bunkering vessel, which is now under construction. According to Chong-Ho Kwak, Chief Executive Officer, Gas Entec, their company is honored to work with Sembcorp Marine for its LNG bunker vessel project, which would be the largest bunker ship operated in Asia region when it enters in service in 2021. He said that their firm is excited to be a part of this prestigious project and would work hard to deliver to responsibility and trust placed on the company. Reportedly, the company would build this vessel at Sembcorp Marine Tuas Boulevard Yard in Singapore. Gas Entec’ engineers will work with their counterparts to manage the cargo handling project. The vessel’s cargo containment tanks will be built using GTT Flex III membrane technology and it would have dual-fuel engines running on marine diesel oil or LNG.
