Flipkart will promote the manufacturing and distribution of Nokia’s smart TVs, besides managing its end-to-end sales.
Flipkart has made an agreement with Nokia to launch Nokia’s first ever range of smart televisions in India. The partnership is expected to ease Nokia’s entry into the India television market. Flipkart, through this deal, also plans to offer jobs to thousands of unemployed people across the country.
The ecommerce firm stated in a press release that poor sound quality is a major area of concern for customers purchasing televisions. The Nokia smart television, powered by audio brand, JBL, will deliver superior sound quality. This will mark the debut of JBL by Harman in the Indian television industry. Following the launch of Mi TVs, smart television market has become quite competitive in India. As a part of the ‘Make in India’ initiative, Flipkart will promote the manufacturing and distribution of Nokia’s smart TVs, besides managing its end-to-end sales.
Vipul Mehrotra, Vice President of Nokia Brand Partnerships, expressed his delight at the fact that Flipkart, one of the leading online marketplaces in India, has been chosen to launch the first ever smart TV by Nokia. Nokia has already been a trusted brand in India for its quality, design, and reliability since years, he said, adding that with the help of Flipkart’s understanding of the Indian consumer behavior and requirements, Nokia smart televisions are likely to reach out to many customers.
Pradeep Chaudhry, Country manager, Harman India, stated that with JBL’s immersive sound quality being appreciated by a majority of the Indian populace, the company is thrilled to deploy this high-end sound quality in a smart television for the first time in India. Harman also looks forward to seeing the impact of JBL’s sound quality on the Indian TV market in the near future.
