Elbit Systems wins $1.65Bn contract to build flight training center

Elbit Systems Ltd., an aerospace and defense company, has recently been awarded a contract worth nearly $1.65 billion (over €1.375 billion). This contract is regarding the establishment & operation of the Hellenic Air Force’s International Flight Training Center, which is a part of a deal inked between the Hellenic Ministry of National Defense and the Israeli Ministry of Defense. It will be performed over the next 20 years and include price indexation.

As per the new contract, Elbit Systems is obligated to supply its new M-346 training aircrafts as well as maintain the entire training fleet that comprises of dozens of M-346 & T-6 training aircrafts for around 20 years. Moreover, the defense electronics company will deliver its latest advanced EVA (Embedded Virtual Avionics) for the training aircraft, networked flight simulators & an array of GBTS (Ground-Based Training Stations), and command & control systems to allow an efficient flight training operation management.
