The International Cricket Council (ICC) has reportedly signed an agreement with Indian E-learning company BYJU’s, making them their global partners from 2021 to 2023.
The agreement will let BYJU’s partner all ICC events to be conducted over the three-year period. This includes the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to be hosted by India on October 2021 and the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.
BYJU’s, as a global partner, will now have substantial rights for broadcasting, digital and in-venue activities across all ICC events. The company, which became the official jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team in August 2019, will now work closely with ICC and create innovate campaigns for deepening fan engagement. In addition, this partnership will help BYJU’s expand their business by integrating their brand presence at some of the biggest sporting events of the world.
The CEO of ICC, Manu Sawhney, has reportedly stated that the organization is glad to partner with a dynamic and strong Indian brand like BYJU’s. He further stated that perseverance, conviction and resilience are pivotal qualities to the sport of cricket and this partnership will engrain these qualities in both young and old audiences.
Byju Raveendran, CEO and founder of BYJU’s, also spoke about how Indians are passionate about cricket and stated that the company is proud to represent the country on a global platform. He further stated that BYJU’s aims at inspiring billions of young students to pursue their love of learning in the same way as cricket.
