Amino’s strategic aim is to provide solutions to media businesses and operators at several points along the curve.
Amino Communications, a media and entertainment tech solutions providing company, has reportedly announced that it has acquired online video expert 24i Media for approximately‚¬24.1 million.
Apparently, 24i’s technology serves customers including ifix, Fox Sports, RTE and NPO. As per reliable sources, the acquisition will provide the company with talented development capability, broader and deeper product set, a greater geographical reach and complementary skills.
Donald McGarva, CEO, Amino, reportedly stated that the rapidly expanding 24i is a great strategic acquisition for the company which has moved it nearer to a significant industry leadership position. Not only 24i’s leadership in TV/Online video apps and UI/UX complements the company’s product line-up, but also shares its vision of the industry’s path on which it is heading, and the agility and culture of innovation needed to get it there lucratively, he further added.
According to trusted sources, the broadcast and online video industry has been experiencing rapid change. But every media business is not at the same position on the disruption curve taking the market from broadcast and hardware to streaming and cloud hosted video platforms. Amino’s strategic aim is to offer solutions to media operators and businesses at several points along the curve. The purchase of 24i and its people, products, and services will enable the company to do this better, as it will continue to enable innovative next generation video experiences and services.
