The acquisition will provide the lightning designers with the industry’s first light engine, independent driver, and digitally controlled system The California-headquartered ERP Power LLC, a portfolio company of Angeles Equity Partners and a leading manufacturer of smart and small connected LED drivers for the lighting industry, has declared to have acquired Lumenetix Inc. Lumenetix is a provider of araya5 tunable color light digital and engine controls. As per trusted sources, the acquisition will provide the lightning designers with the industry’s first light engine, independent driver and digitally controlled system. This system is apparently designed to reduce the equipment manufacturer complexity and speed up the LED lighting fixture time in the market. Michael Archer, Founder and CTO, ERP, was reportedly quoted stating that the company’s integrated system helps the lighting fixture designers to facilitate luminaire design, preserve company’s brand and accelerate time to market for specified graded fixtures with top quality power density, light and digital control flexibility. Reportedly, ERP and Lumenetix’s patented technology simplify the use and control of LED lighting installation in order to provide consistent, accurate and controlled lighting. The combined company would provide controlled integration along with support for companies like DMX, Lutron Ecosystem, Xicato, Acuity Fresco, Avi-On, DALI, LeGrandWattStopper, to facilitate a lighting project ranging from a dozen to thousand fixatures. Timothy Meyer and Jordan Kartz, Co-Founders and Managing Partners, Angeles Equity Partners, reportedly stated that the acquisition is adequately positioned to deliver compelling yet differentiated value proportion to the lighting industry. ERP and Lumenetix are well-positioned to capitalize on the IoT digital controls and the current lighting industry trends. For the record, Jed Dorsheimer and Doug Herst, two of the most influential people in the lighting industry are apparently joining ERP Board of Directors. While Herst is the founder of Lumenetix, Dorsheimer was former VP, Acuity Brands. As per credible sources, Irell & Manella LLP served as the legal advisors to ERP and Angeleer, while O’Melveny & Myers LLP provided legal advice to Lumenetix.
